SCUDERIA DEL PORTELLO’S 40TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY
Great success for the second edition of the ACI Storico Festival hosted by the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza on the 3rd of March, when over 650 historic and youngtimer cars came together in the Temple of Speed. The highlight and main attraction of the day was the precious contribution of the Registro Italiano Alfa Romeo and of the Scuderia del Portello who brought together over 360 Alfas belonging to clubs and owners from Italy and the entire Europe. After the "Campioni Alfa Romeo" award ceremony which took place on Saturday in downtown Milan, reserved only for members and guests invited by the Scuderia del Portello, the party continued on Sunday 3 April, at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. Among the most prominent models it’s worth noting the 1971 Alfa Romeo 33TT3, the 1983 Alfa Romeo F1 183T and the 1967 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/2 Fleròn, belonging to Scuderia del Portello. Following the impresive 2021 participation, another record of entrants was registered again this year, confirming the event as the largest annual Alfa Romeo meeting in Italy. For the 2022 edition, in addition to the 40 years of the Scuderia del Portello, alfisti celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo Giulia and the 100th anniversary of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The day’s programme included a tour on the historic banked track and of the current Formula 1 racetrack of all participants, as well as sessions dedicated to racing cars, during which the Scuderia del Portello brought to the track the full show of its historical racing Alfa Romeo Dynamic Museum, made up of rare classic race cars. Also present for the day there many quests of excellence from Alfa Romeo’s history in racing, such as Andrea de Adamich, Carlo Facetti, Giorgio Francia and Gianni Giudici, who shared some of their memories with the audience, but also with a look to the future with the arrival in the paddock of Alfa Romeo’s newest model - Tonale - in a dynamic world premiere, with Alfa Romeo CEO - Jean-Philippe Imparato on board, accompanied by the grandaughter of Alfa president Giuseppe Luraghi - Maria Laura Luraghi. RIAR aroused the interest of the public thanks to other important cars from Alfa’s history such as a 1964 Giulia TZ and a 1965 Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 - official Autodelta winner of various titles in Italy and abroad. .
