VILLA D’ESTE 2022

This exhibition of the world’s most exclusive historic vehicles has a name - Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, and a place - the dream like setting of Lake Como.
BMW Group Classic, the traditional patron of the event, in collaboration with the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este, welcomed all the participants and guests of the event in grand style.
During the competition about fifty magnificent cars representing almost a century of automotive history were presented, the spectators of the event were able to admire the "creme de la creme" of the automotive world, all seasoned with a magnificent Italian sun and a splendid Mediterranean cuisine.
The classes that competed this year were:
Class A: The Art Deco Era of Motor Car Design
Class B: The Supercharged Mercedes-Benz
Class C: How Grand Entrances Were Once Made
Class D: Eight Decades of Ferrari.
Class E: "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday"
Class F: BMW’s M Cars and their Ancestors
Class G: Pioneers that chased the magic 300 kph
In addition to more than 50 cars on display, BMW presented a wonderful collection of historic and modern cars and presented two highly anticipated premieres: the BMW M4 CSL and the BMW i /xDrive60.
Last but not least, Rolls-Royce paraded its brand new “Rolls-Royce Boat Tail”: a project four years in the making that generated cars, each unique in its kind for three very discerning Rolls-Royce customers.
At least half of the magic of the event is given by the location itself, in fact the iconic Villa d'Este Hotel celebrates its 150th season this year - "How Grand Entrances Were Once Made" presented the cars that have previosuly entered in the annals of the Competition as winners of the Villa d'Este Gold Cup or of the “Best of Show” trophy, since the inaugural event in held in 1929.
